Peterborough CVS celebrates 61 years of service of their Direct Payments staff

PCVS provide free, friendly and independent support and advice for people in Peterborough who receive Direct Payments, which is a form of financial support that aims to give people who have additional needs, more control over their own social care. The team has been established for over 15 years helping people setup up and manage their Direct Payments if they are eligible for the support.

Direct Payments Support Service Manager, Chris DeWilde started working for PCVS in July 2004 and last month marks 18 years of her dedicated service! She is passionate about the valuable and much needed support her team provide. She says, “It is vital for people to have choice and control over their care packages and be able to reach out for any help when issues arise. None of what I do would be possible without the superb team I have.”

Karen Lawrence-Clarke is the Direct Payments Support Team Lead and has just celebrated her 15 year anniversary with PCVS. Both her colleagues, Gill Flack and Faith Boys are close behind and will celebrate their 15 years of service next year. Collectively the team has clocked up 61 years of service, which is a true testament to their sheer hard work, determination and commitment to provide vital support for the communities of Peterborough.

Dave Ellis, who is PCVS’ Chairman is proud of the Direct Payments team and their outstanding achievement. He directs his gratitude and best wishes to all the team members, “Thank you for all that you do for the communities that we serve, we are so proud of you and the monumental milestones in service that you have achieved is truly remarkable!
