Systems go! Cross-sector partnering for change in health and care
The UK’s health and care system is at a moment of national crisis. It is grappling with persistent health inequalities, over-stretched services and an exhausted workforce. To address these challenges effectively, there needs to be bold, radical action that moves the system to a preventive approach – one that focuses on promoting health rather than simply treating illnesses. On this three-week course, you’ll discover how to address the most serious challenges facing the health and care sector through effective and collaborative partnerships.
Collaborative Leadership in Voluntary Sector

It has potential to change anyone’s practice.

Trustees' responsibilities (34 mins)
Over the last decade, there have been several well-publicised scandals surrounding charities and the charitable sector meaning the public could be less inclined to look favourably at charities. As such, there is an ever-growing need for charities and their trustees to demonstrate good governance.Public benefit (10 mins)
Upon its introduction in 2008, the Public Benefit requirement raised many complex questions which bought charities into the political frame. There is no legal definition of Public Benefit defined in the Charities Act. Therefore, whether something is for the public benefit depends on whether there is sufficient evidence to conclude that the practice will result in public benefit. The charity governance code (27 mins)
Set out by the Charity Commission, the Charity Governance Code provides trustees with a practical approach to good governance. Visualised as a house with a foundation and six pillars helping to hold up the overarching principle of Organisational purpose. In this video, we examine each principle and outline what each pillar means and how you could apply the principles in your organisation.Member Only Resources
